Job Title: Estimator (Joinery Fit-Out Industry Experience)

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in the Joinery & Fit-Out industry to join our team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating costs for joinery, fit-out, and interior construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accounted for in the budget. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the materials, labor, and processes involved in the fit-out industry.

Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation:
oPrepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for joinery and fit-out projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overheads.
oAssess project requirements and specifications, and provide precise cost calculations based on client needs and project scope.
oEvaluate blueprints, designs, and drawings to determine quantities and types of materials required.
oSource and liaise with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
oPrepare comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for each project.
Tendering:
oAssist in the preparation of tenders and bid doents for new projects.
oWork closely with project managers and other team members to submit competitive and accurate bids.
oAnalyze and evaluate tender doents to identify project requirements and scope of work.
Cost Management:
oMonitor costs throughout the project lifecycle and ensure they align with the initial estimates.
oTrack any variations, change orders, and unforeseen costs, and provide necessary reports.
oCollaborate with the project management team to review and control costs, ensuring profitability and project success.
Project Support:
oProvide timely and accurate cost reports to project managers, senior management, and clients.
oCoordinate with the design team and contractors to ensure accurate and efficient execution of the project.
oAttend site meetings to assess progress and provide updated cost assessments.
Vendor & Supplier Management:
oBuild and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
oNegotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
oEnsure that materials and services are sourced in accordance with the project’s requirements and budget.
Doentation and Reporting:
oMaintain a well-organized system of project doentation, including estimates, quotes, cost sheets, and correspondence.
oProvide detailed reports on project status, including cost-to-complete estimates and budget projections.
oPrepare final account doents and ensure that all project costs are accounted for and accurately billed.
Risk Management:
oIdentify potential risks related to costs, timelines, and procurement, and propose mitigating solutions.
oEnsure compliance with health and safety regulations, quality standards, and relevant industry norms.
Requirements:
Experience:
oA minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Estimator in the Joinery & Fit-Out industry in the UAE.
oStrong knowledge of materials, processes, and costing in the fit-out and joinery sector.
oProven track record in tendering, cost estimation, and project management support.
Skills:
oExpertise in estimating software (e.g., Excel, AutoCAD, Estimating Software).
oStrong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
oAbility to read and interpret architectural drawings, technical specifications, and other construction doents.
oExcellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
•A degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. (Additional certifications in estimating or cost management are a plus).
Knowledge:
oIn-depth understanding of the UAE market, suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors in the fit-out industry.
oFamiliarity with local regulations, safety standards, and quality control protocols.
Personal Attributes:
oDetail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
oStrong problem-solving abilities and proactive approach.
oTeam player with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
oFluency in English is required (knowledge of Arabic is a plus).
