• Commissions, writes or revises copy and content for a variety of brands
• Edits and proofs PR and print copies to ensure high editorial standards are met
• Proven ability to handle the section independently is a must.
• Factchecks written stories to ensure they are accurate, adhere to copyright laws, are not libelous, or go against the publication’s policy
• Assesses and generates effective key messaging and slant of PRs and other contents
• Stays updated on appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistency in messaging
• Researches and digs deeper on target audiences, through online searches, reviews of existing research, interviews with subject matter experts, and in-person meetings
• Interpret creative briefs to develop and produce creative concepts and key messaging
• Always on the loop about the latest trends
• Supports editor and sub-editors in all activities leading to publication
• Be proficient in InDesign and InCopy
• Be a master of catchy headlines for the print, proficient in SEO headlines for the web.
• Ability to work on tight deadlines, multi-tasking
• Must hold 4-6 years of English copywriting experience
• A working knowledge of software applications, such as InDesign and Photoshop
• Has a great eye for detail and the ability to spot mistakes
• Excellent written communication skills
• Strong creative thinking skills and ability to think conceptually
• Excellent research skills
• Time management skills
