• Responsible for coordinating the department’s breathing air program and maintaining assigned specialized equipment to include self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), nozzles, water delivery appliances, and small gas-powered tools and equipment.
• Maintains, tests, and certifies all SCBA; tracks SCBA maintenance and repairs; documents all SCBA testing as required by applicable codes.
• Provides technical assistance to various divisions of the department; analyzes failures of various technical equipment; diagnoses and repairs specialized equipment to include power saws, hydraulic rescue tools and various other equipment and small engines.
• Orders, receives, and issues SCBA components; work with vendors; performs inventory checks, coordinates warranty repairs of SCBA and compressors; services, repairs, and tests air samples from all fixed and mobile breathing air compressors on a quarterly basis; documents all testing required by applicable codes.
• Develops specifications on highly specialized department equipment; writes technical specifications, evaluates, and conducts yearly inspections and maintenance on specialized equipment, small engines, and other equipment; coordinates purchase of SCBA, air compressors, specialized equipment, and small engines.
• At least 2 years’ experience on the same field.
• Must be a degree holder of Mechanical Engineer.
• With authenticated school credentials
• Should be fluent in English and have good communication skills.
• Knowledgeable in maintaining and servicing of breathing apparatus of any of the brand such as Drager, MSA, Scott, etc.
