Job description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in reading blueprints, measuring, cutting, and assembling materials to construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. The Carpenter will work on a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, cabinets, drywall, and insulation.
Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
Ensure work is completed according to project specifications, safety standards, and building codes.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other construction professionals.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in carpentry preferred.
Proven experience as a carpenter or in a similar role.
Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
Ability to read technical doents and drawings.
Good physical condition and stamina; ability to lift heavy materials and work in various conditions.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with specialized carpentry tasks such as cabinetry, framing, or finishing.
Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
Ability to supervise and train junior carpenters or apprentices.
Work Environment:
May involve working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Requires standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
Use of protective equipment such as gloves, goggles, and masks may be necessary.
