Role Description:
The MEP Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure optimal functionality, safety, and efficiency in building projects. The role ensures compliance with UAE regulations, specifically DEWA standards, while contributing to the successful completion of construction projects by coordinating with various teams. The MEP Engineer plays a key role in implementing sustainable and energy-efficient solutions, maintaining cost-effective operations, and ensuring the highest quality standards in all MEP-related activities across project sites.
Design & Planning: Develop and implement designs for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations and international standards.
Installation & Supervision: Supervise the installation of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, water supply, drainage, fire protection, and other building services.
DEWA Compliance: Ensure all electrical installations and designs meet DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) regulations and standards. Obtain necessary DEWA approvals and certifications.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with architects, project managers, and contractors to ensure MEP systems are integrated into construction projects efficiently.
Inspection & Testing: Conduct regular inspections and testing of MEP systems to ensure operational efficiency and safety. Address any issues that arise during the commissioning phase.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Develop maintenance schedules for MEP systems and perform troubleshooting when necessary to resolve any technical issues.
Cost & Material Management: Oversee the procurement of materials, manage project budgets, and ensure the cost-effective use of resources.
Doentation: Prepare technical reports, drawings, and doentation related to MEP systems and ensure proper records are maintained for all projects.
Energy Efficiency: Implement energy-efficient solutions and sustainability practices in MEP designs to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
Qualifications & Skills:
DEWA Certified Engineer: Must hold valid certification as a DEWA-approved engineer for electrical work.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a related field).
3+ years of experience in MEP engineering, with hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in construction projects.
Knowledge of UAE regulations related to MEP systems and building codes.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering design software.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with various departments and stakeholders.
Problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on ensuring operational excellence.
Familiarity with energy efficiency measures and green building practices is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Must be available for site visits and inspections as needed.
Flexible to work in various project locations across the UAE.
Should have experience in UAE.
