➢ Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
➢ Align components using calipers, rules etc. and clamp pieces.
➢ Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
➢ Test and inspect welded surface and structure to discover flaws.
➢ Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
➢ Receives Setup and Operate fabricating machine, such as flame cutters, drill
presses and Pipe cutter.
➢ Hammers, Clips and grind work piece to cut, bend and straighten metal.
➢ Work independently and uses proper judgment in analyzing and fabrication
equipment.
➢ Positions, aligns, fit and weld together parts.
➢ Designs and constructs templates and fixtures.
➢ Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications, using square, rules and
measuring tape.
➢ Receives instructions from the workshop supervisor in the form of oral
instructions, penciled layouts, blueprints, sketches, and by reference to worn
or broken parts.
➢ Inspects grooves, angles or gap allowances using micrometer callper and
precision measuring instruments.
➢ Observes tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic x- ray, and dimension
tolerance to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications.
➢ Uses of different welding equipment and is up to date with their
maintenance requirements,
➢ Able to finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.
