Job Summary:
The Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers along designated routes while ensuring comfort, adherence to traffic laws, and timely service. This role requires strong driving skills, excellent customer service, and a commitment to passenger safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a bus safely along assigned routes and schedules.
Pick up and drop off passengers at designated stops.
Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers, including assisting elderly or disabled individuals.
Obey all traffic laws and regulations while maintaining a safe driving record.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, checking brakes, tires, lights, and fuel levels.
Report any mechanical issues or accidents to the appropriate department.
Maintain cleanliness and order inside the bus.
Handle passenger inquiries, provide route information, and manage fare collection (if required).
Follow company policies and emergency procedures in case of breakdowns or accidents.
Qualifications and Skills:
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
Proven experience as a bus driver or similar role.
Strong knowledge of traffic laws, routes, and road safety regulations.
Good communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with passengers.
Ability to stay calm and handle stressful situations professionally.
Physically fit to sit for long periods and assist passengers if needed.
Clean driving record with no major violations.
