Database Developer job description
We are looking for an experienced Database Developer to join our team! As a Database Developer at our construction company, you will be responsible for creating, designing, testing, planning, implementing, protecting, operating, managing, and maintaining our company's databases.
Database Developer duties and responsibilities
• Design and develop high performance and high availability web applications, reports, and systems to meet the Company’s strategic objective.
• Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices.
• Identify and recommend application system solutions to business problems and enhancements to existing systems.
• Develop and manage data integrations between internal and external systems.
• Modify databases according to requests and perform tests.
• Gathering all salient information regarding the intended functions of each database.
• Ensure proper security measures are in place and monitored. Configuring databases such that they are able to withstand attacks and the loss of information, solve database usage issues and malfunctions.
• Using knowledge of specific programming languages and codes.
• Providing practical guidance on the use and migration of each database.
Database Developer requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related information technology field.
• Certificate in Database Development is strongly advantageous.
• In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security and monitoring).
• Easily design and implement a business process into functional and efficient code.
• Implement and manage company data management practices and policies.
• Knowledge of software development and user expertise interface web applications to make big database for construction company like (Oracle, Progress DB, Microsoft SQL Server, Claris FileMaker, IBM DB2, etc.).
• Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success.
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
• Team player.
• Good time-management skills.
• Great interpersonal and communication skills.
